What you’ll be responsible for
As a member of the clean water hydraulic modelling team, you will play a key technical role in providing hydraulic modelling and network analysis services. You will be involved in supporting key business areas such as Water Distribution, Assets, Engineering, Quality, Capital delivery and Developer Services.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining strong links and working collaboratively with our key customers.
- Provide technical support to the hydraulic modelling team - ensuring accurate and efficient project and hydraulic modelling analysis delivery.
- Oversee and deliver hydraulic modelling assessments (HMA’s) for all business areas where required. With the ability to critically review HMA’s produced by modelling team and framework partners.
- Actively contribute to complete and maintain DCWW’s hydraulic model library.
- Ensure technical reviews are undertaken following specifications, standards and governance within team and across business.
- Explore and support innovation to drive value and service support from hydraulic modelling and model library.
- Supporting DCWW’s Hydraulic Modelling Academy with delivering, increasing and supporting hydraulic and modelling knowledge and understanding across the business.
- Participation and flexibility in a standby rota and with supporting Operational incidents when they occur.

About you
Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Skills
- Preferable HNC/HND or Degree qualified – and/or willing to study towards a qualification in Engineering, Science, Environmental, or other analytical subject experience.
- Previous experience in clean water hydraulic modelling with expertise in build, calibration and scenario reporting. A good working knowledge of DNV Synergi software is preferred but not essential.
- Experience of water balance analysis, supply and demand analysis, operations, leakage detection, optimisation and control would be an advantage.
- An aptitude for problem solving and analytical thinking, equally comfortable problem solving and using initiative as well as being part of a high performing team.
- The ability to develop positive working relationships across the organisation, with external consultants and water industry experts.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to translate directives into actions that are fully understood by the team and organisation.
Good to know
- Working is hybrid, between head office – Linea, Cardiff, regional depots and remote.
- The successful candidate will be required to participate in a standby rota.
