What you’ll be responsible for
Job Title: Quantity Surveyor Asset Management
1 Assist the implementation and continuous improvement of the Waste water network contracts
2 Be an essential team member to ensure that contracts are delivered within the statutory, regulatory and financial outputs of the DCWW Business Plan while demonstrating value for money and complying with all relevant DCWW governance processes at all times
3 Assist the implementation and continuous improvement of the Waste water network contracts
4 Develop and maintain a financial model on Private Sewer and Lateral Drain Transfer (PST) with all supporting data sources documented
5 Provide advice and support to area operational teams on all commercial aspects of the framework. Identify and implement best practice
6 Ensure that the appropriate processes are maintained to provide detailed and effective financial information on the delivery of the contracts
7 Evaluate task payments, challenge costs and raise/resolve queries
8 Develop and maintain a financial model on all PST costs
9 Document all data sources to provide a robust IDOK submission
10 Raising Payment Certificates in accordance with contract
11 Tracking assessment dates, review period and payment date to meet contract obligations
12 Ensure contractors tasks are technically complete (TECO) on DCWW SAP system
13 Ensure cost settlement is posted to the correct cost centre
14 Monitor volumes of activity and report on volumes against forecasts
15 Use of IT systems to accurately record and monitor contract information
16 Provide financial detail to ensure monthly accruals are accurately captured
17 Assist in the evaluation and administration of compensation events
18 Site visits as and when required to verify measurement of work completed
19 Assist in recording and monitoring of contract performance against key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
20 Attend monthly performance meetings with Service Manager and service providers. Confident in presenting accurate data at monthly management meetings
21 Deputise and flexibility is required of the individual in order to provide cover for Waste Water Service Manager for holidays, absence or as business needs dictate
22 Develop monthly reporting summary on cost by contract area split to Private Sewer Transfer and Public sewers
23 Develop a culture of best practice through internal benchmarking
About you
Essential Experience, Qualifications and Skills
- Experience of working with NEC contracts
- Ideally you will have experience in Wastewater Network contracts
- Good communication skills and comfortable reporting to Waste Water Network Management Team as required
- Ability to analyse, interpret and present financial information to ensure appropriate business decisions are taken
- Ability to interpret and apply statutory and regulatory standards to achieve best business outcome
- Excellent IT skills are required in Excel, Word and Powerpoint
- Full driving licence and ability to travel frequently as per business requirements
