Be Yourself - Amy Williams

I am a Planner for the Planning and Scheduling Waste Team.  I have worked for Welsh Water for nearly 15 years and am currently planning MEI work for the Central Catchment.

I suffer with Epilepsy and have done so since the age of five whilst experiencing a mini stroke.  As a result, this has left me a severe defect in my right hand / arm.  I have had to teach myself how to touch type with only one hand and one finger.  It has also meant that I cannot drive.

I have provided my team with ‘Help Guide’ should I have a seizure in the workplace, so are aware of what actions to take and contact details.  When I was going out to site, this information was provided to all so that felt confident of what to do.

Welsh Water have shown great support to my condition throughout as I require time off to recover after a seizure.  Together with providing aiding tools for working on a desktop/ laptop.

You can read more about Epilepsy here.
