Work Experience FAQs

Who do I contact if I need help with the application form?

If you have any questions on the application form, please contact our Talent Development team by email on dcww.l&d@dwrcymru.com

What is the duration of work experience?

We offer work experience placements for 1 week. The start and end time of your days can vary, but these will be discussed in advance. A choice of dates and locations will be available to select on the application form, with further information on our website.

What should I wear for my work experience placement?

Whilst there is no strict guidance on dress code, if you are participating in an operational placement, you will be required to wear appropriate (weather dependant) clothing, as well as steel toe capped / safety boots.

Do you provide Work Safety clothing?

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide steel toe capped / safety boots, so you will need to supply these yourself, however, we will provide a high-visibility jacket and a helmet (should these be required during your placement).

Will you pay my expenses?

No. We are unable to reimburse any expenses. We will always try to locate your work experience as close to your home address as possible to keep costs low. It will be your responsibility to get transport to and from the relevant location during your placement.

Can I apply for work experience if I am not based in the UK?

We can only accept applications from people who have already obtained the right to work in the UK.
