What you’ll be responsible for
Assist the Sewerage Manager to manage a substantial operational area to achieve regulatory, Health & Safety, financial, customer and performance targets. To ensure the existing network assets, including the transferred private drains are managed to optimal efficiency within agreed budgetary targets whilst meeting all Customer Service and serviceability targets.
As a North Wales CCTV Technician you will:
- Resolve Customer related issues with regards to the Sewerage Network & recently transferred private drains, taking ownership and resolving to a satisfactory conclusion.
- The successful applicant will undertake all aspects of sewerage investigation work using CCTV equipment both reactively and planned, to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in line with Health and Safety policies and procedures and successful candidates will be required to undertake a POWRA.
- You will receive job instructions via an electronic work management system (SAP) and be expected to provide feedback via the same route and update Innovyze from site to enable the Network team to review survey’s in a timely manner.
- You will have a direct impact on customer and pollution issues, allowing the network team to make informed decisions regarding next steps.
- Provision of technical support to service providers and associated field staff.
- Work closely with the wider Network team, CCTV Co-ordinator, Wastewater Assets, Developer Services & Capital.
- This role offers a varied experience in the operational field.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Respond to requests for CCTV surveys in priority order for all types of sewers and drains, providing detailed feedback on actions taken and preparation of detailed structural and serviceability reports.
- Make recommendations as to remedial works as required.
- Undertake sewer location surveys using all types of sewer tracing equipment, providing accurate data and feedback to the planning team to enable developers and customer to progress with their build.
- Undertake Sewer network inspections to prove connectivity between manholes & undertake misconnection surveys, working closely with the Drainage & Storm Overflow team.
- Undertake detailed and timely completion of actions taken on all incidents in the work management systems.
- Accurately update the sewerage mapping system.

About you
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Experience gained through thorough understanding of waste water maintenance & service delivery. Highly competent in terms of working within high performance teams.
- An ability to think strategically but also able to ensure effective day to day delivery of services.
- Experience of using CCTV equipment and recording software would be advantageous
- Excellent communicator (verbal & written) with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate ideas, targets & solutions to colleagues and service providers.
- Computer Literate, with experience of Window applications, GIS and SAP.
- Hold current driving licence.
- Understanding of the recent Private Sewer Transfer Legislation would be advantageous.
- The ability to develop positive working relationships and to be seen as a highly credible representative of the business is required for this role.
