What you’ll be responsible for


  • Providing an efficient safe service of liquid Bio-solids removal from our wastewater treatment works and deliver to our treatment centres.
  • Working closely with operations you will ensure assets compliance is protected through timely Bio-solids removal.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times.
  • Working closely with the Bio-solids Schedulers and Supervisors to ensure that all collections are undertaken when required and any exceptions are reported in a timely manner.
  • Carrying out routine daily checks on tankers in order to comply with Road Traffic Act requirements and to ensure continuity with Welsh Waters Operators Licence.
  • Carrying out daily and weekly checks to ensure legal road worthiness at all times. Accurately record driving hours.
  • Accurately report and record defects: Record nil defects and action defects immediately.
  • Recording quantities, types and destinations of Bio-solids transported to comply with relevant legislation and IMS procedure.

About you


  • Possess a HGV Class 1 driving licence.
  • Able to take responsibility for own actions whilst working ‘in the field’ following procedures and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of IT systems such as Word, Excel and Outlook and ability to use PDA and other handheld devices.
  • Ability to travel as job requires and have a geographical appreciation of the operating area.
  • Able to work to deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities.
  • The ability to develop positive working relationships and to be seen as a highly credible representative of the business.

  • 5 day rota, Monday - Thursday 6am - 4pm, Friday 6am - 2pm
  • All assessments must be completed by the closing date unless stated otherwise - internal candidates do not need to take the assessment.
