What you’ll be responsible for
Leading and managing a team of Operational Scientists to ensure that all regulatory water quality requirements are met. Providing the scientific expertise and direction necessary to ensure optimum water quality is achieved at the Water Treatment Works to our Customers’ taps. Also providing authoritative water quality advice and expertise to the operational team. This will include:
- Managing and developing a team of Process Scientists and prioritising workloads to enable timely solutions to water quality problems.
- Providing the scientific expertise and direction necessary to ensure high quality and cost effective water treatment at all sites.
- Critically appraising water treatment processes, to ensure that both cost and treatment are optimised and risks identified.
- Providing authoritative water quality advice and expertise to the operations function.
- Ensuring that all regulatory water quality requirements are met.
- Ensuring that relevant IMS procedures are adhered to.
- Undertaking any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

About you
- Minimum qualification of a degree in a scientific discipline
- Proven experience in water treatment
- Enthusiastic about putting our customers first every day
- In depth knowledge of water science and treatment
- Must be able to manage a team of technical specialists
- Good analytical and data interrogation skills and an ability to extract relevant information and present it in a logical and structured manner
- Have a proven ability in root cause analysis
- Has a strong focus on problem resolution and has the tenacity and determination to see through a job to its full conclusion
- Able to demonstrate good communication skills and effective people and team management
- Good awareness of the principles of Lean operations
- Must be able to multi task and prioritise workload
- Must have a working knowledge of all regulations affecting water supply

A full drivers licence is required
