What you’ll be responsible for

 

You will be an integral member of the corporate finance team where you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with our key controls. You will also provide cover for other roles in times of absence to ensure that our financial records are updated accordingly.
 

This will include 

1.        Administration of procurement cards to ensure compliance with policy and correct reporting of the expenditure. This will involve working closely with the procurement department. 

2.        Supporting the Controls Manager in implementing and sustaining a good control environment, including the monthly Finance Risk and Compliance Committee. Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to, scheduling meetings, gathering meeting documents, taking minutes and following up on any actions that need to be taken, preparing and collating Finance KPI’s. 
3.        Conducting substantive audit checks on the key finance controls to ensure compliance
4.        You will provide cover for the income analyst and admin assistant roles when they are absent and will provide assistance when needed. This will cover, but not limited to; 

•    Posting income related journals, 
•    Posting bank and intercompany transactions,
•    Raising purchase orders and settling invoices,
•    Completing bank reconciliations.

You will update the process notes once you have been taken through each task to ensure that there is documentation available to follow.
    
5.        You will provide cover at the year-end which will include updating year end documentation and schedules, responding to audit queries and scheduling regulatory due diligence meetings. 
    
6.        Collaborate with internal teams and business stakeholders to gather information and document key operational processes and procedures. Regularly review and update process documentation to reflect any changes in workflows, policies or regulations.
7.        Assess and categorise all Infrastructure Renewal Expenditure (IRE) into capital and operational, in line with IFRS principals, by gaining an understanding of the project scope through stakeholder engagement or document review. Update the IFRS IRE data in preparation of the statutory accounts.
8.        By adhering to established processes, identify and assess changes in project scope that may lead to monthly updates in the DG code. Additionally, conduct a high-level review of projects with first-time expenditures for the month and follow up on any discrepancies where the DG code may be incorrect.
9.        Conduct a high-level analysis from a system report detailing project actuals, forecasts and budgets and seek explanations for significant variances from key stakeholders, particularly for projects associated with PCD’s (Price control deliverables)
10.        Assess new projects to determine if they align with the green bond principles and classify them into the appropriate categories.
11.        Provide Adopted Asset information on a half yearly basis of all assets adopted using the latest UCD unit rates in the adopted asset model.
12.        Co-ordinate and collate the information to update the Absorption rate calculation annually.
13.        Providing adhoc support to the wider members of the team when requested.

About you

  • Over 3 years’ experience in the finance section  
  • Previous experience of working in an accounts/bookkeeping role
  • Working with SAP or a similar ERP system (Oracle)
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail 
  • Excellent communication skills , both verbally and written form 
  • Ability to multitask and proficient in both Word and Excel
