What you’ll be responsible for

 

As a credible member of the Bio-solids Services Team you will:

 

1        Manage the recycling of biosolids ensuring compliance with all regulatory and Health and Safety standards

2        Ensure compliance with the industry Biosolids Assurance Scheme and lead audits of our recycling activities

3        Develop customer relationships with farmers, growers and landowners regarding biosolids recycling. Build relationships with NRW / Environment Agency and Environmental Health Officers to keep them fully informed of biosolids recycling activities

4        Inform farmers and growers on the benefits of biosolids and the products available to them, becoming an adviser that they can trust

5        Identify and deliver efficiencies and ensure that cost considerations are taken into account during recycling activities

6        Review viable new business opportunities for the biosolids business within the industrial and commercial markets

7        Enhance the company’s presence in the agricultural market, through knowledge of the sector

8        Maintain a resilient and sustainable landbank to ensure continuation of biosolids recycling into the future

9        Work with operational colleagues to drive improvements in biosolids quality and maintain standards.

 

 

 

As an Agricultural Scientist your main requirements will be to:

 

•    Manage the recycling of bio-solids ensuring compliance with all regulatory and H&S standards.

•    Ensure compliance with the industry Bio-solids Assurance Scheme.

•    Develop customer relationships with farmers, growers and landowners regarding biosolids recycling. 

•    Advise farmers and growers on their crop requirements and become an adviser that they can trust.

•    Identify and deliver efficiencies.

•    Pro-actively identify viable new business opportunities for the bio-solids business within the industrial and commercial markets.

•    Enhance the company’s presence in the agricultural market, preferably through existing contacts and knowledge of the sector.

About you

 

Desirable Qualification

  • FACTS qualified agricultural scientist (training can be provided for a suitably-skilled candidate)
     

 

Essential Experience

  • Experience gained through the farming industry (or similar environmental experience) and ability to communicate effectively with farmers and growers
  • A proven track record of managing  health and safety compliance

 

 

Essential Knowledge & Skills

  • Able to demonstrate a commercial approach to cost efficiency and deliver efficiencies into the business
  • An ability to think strategically but also able to ensure effective day to day delivery of services
  • Ability to travel as job requires
  • The ability to develop positive working relationships and to be seen as a highly credible senior representative of the business is required for this role

Good to know

 

  • Hybrid working – a mix of office, remote and field working.
  • No shift patterns, Mon-Fri 08:00-16:00.
  • No standby.
  • Either car allowance or company vehicle provided.
