What to expect
You will work closely with your line manager to assist in the commercial administration, reporting and performance on DCWW’s Delivery Programme.
You will:
- Work together to create a safe working environment.
- Provide support for day-to-day tasks on project delivery and demonstrate the ability to work unsupervised on occasions.
- Attending construction sites to carry out assessment of work done.
- Preparation and validation of target costs and budget estimates for Investment Decision Point (IDP) governance.
- Assist in the administration of contracts and works packages including, interim assessments, certification and change management.
- Assist in the management of change in accordance with the form of contract, including the production and submission of Compensation Event Quotations and the maintenance of detailed schedules of value.
- Using systems knowledge to generate regular financial reports
- Supporting in production of tender documentation.
- Support risk and value management where applicable.
- Maintain a high standard of document control, to ensure that knowledge is retained not just for the now, but for the future.
- Build relationships and network within the company through honesty and trust.
- Develop construction knowledge through site attendance.
- Develop commercial acumen through DCWW skills framework and University attendance.
- Deliver all outputs in an accurate and timely manner to a high quality standard.
We've collaborated with University of South Wales to offer a Degree Apprenticeship which provides a unique chance for you to develop the qualities and skills to excel in your career.
You will receive relevant hands-on experience from day one through a structured learning programme and commercially focused placement rotation, giving you the experience and skills to develop strong commercial acumen. During term times you will study one day per week at uni alongside your work based learning.
Over the course of approximately 5 years, you'll achieve an industry accredited BSc (Hons) Degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management.

Salary: Starting salary will be £26,400
