About the role

 

You will work closely with business colleagues to achieve improved delivery of change through the provision of well-engineered and aligned requirements and the refinement of business processes. 

To ensure success you will work closely with Enterprise Architecture and Delivery Leads to ensure alignment and prioritisation of delivery across all areas of the business. You will help develop a good understanding of business objectives, improve communication and deliver value earlier.

What you’ll be responsible for

 

  • Work with business and technical stakeholders to capture and approve models of as-is, could-be and to-be processes and perform the required gap analysis to enable the identification of requirements 
  • Work with business and technical stakeholders to elicit and engineer different types of requirements
  • Work with stakeholders to gather and document epics, user stories/features and acceptance criteria
  • Work with stakeholders to prioritise and manage the product backlog
  • Perform sprint planning and contribute to retrospectives
  • Understand and apply modelling techniques that support business analysis (including process modelling, use cases etc)
  • Work with business stakeholders and delivery leads to define, scope and initiate a project
  • Break-down complex business scenarios or problems into process and data models
  • Provide the required analysis to support the development of business cases including investment appraisal techniques
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to identify and quantify business benefits and ensure they are tracked through to delivery
  • Work with all areas of ITS and ITS partners to ensure clear understanding of requirements and ensure strategic alignment

About you

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

 

  • Experience of engaging with and influencing stakeholders at all levels of an organisation and with the gravitas to manage escalation from senior managers and executives
  • Experience of working as part of an IT service provided by a combination of multiple partners (including offshore) and in house teams 
  • Being able to decompose, develop or summarise information and provide it to technical and business stakeholders in an audience-appropriate format, including delivering presentations 
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in the BA role in an IT environment

This is a hybrid role, the successful candidate will be expected to attend our Cardiff/Newport office 2/3 days a week or as the business requires.
