We are looking for an individual that has a passion for all things food with perhaps some basic kitchen experience however full training is available for the right candidates.

  • Communication skills by listening to other team and management
  • Building a commercial awareness and the experience of working in a commercial environment
  • Working with regulations such as health and safety and licensing laws, and making sure that colleagues understand them

What you’ll be responsible for

 

 

 

Duties will include:

 

  • Ensuring the safety of all persons on site
  • To order all kitchen and goods for resale supplies from designated suppliers.
  • Maintain upkeep of all kitchen HACCP records at all times and to required standard.
  • Prepare, cook and serve meals, manage and organise café assistants to deliver high quality customer service.
  • Menu creation and design to achieve and maximise Gross Margin.
  • Liaise with and manage external bookings of meeting rooms.
  • Manage the front of house team to ensure excellent customer experience.
  • Supervise and identify training needs of colleagues to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Strive to develop and improve the customer experience offering
  • Ensure the service in the café and restaurant area is maintained to a high standard
  • Maintain the food hygiene standards, upkeep and tidiness of the kitchen, retail and restaurant areas in accordance with DCWW Food safety procedures.
  • Engage with customers as an ambassador of Welsh Water

The site boasts, a state-of-the-art Visitor Attraction building with 200 cover restaurant, balcony with views over both reservoirs, group and cubicle changing rooms, both land and water based activities, education learning space, bird hides & islands, meeting rooms and a Grab & Go. About you

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

 

  • Commercial catering and kitchen supervisory experience
  • Practical health & safety and food safety experience in a visitor attraction or retail or restaurant environment
  • Catering / Retail customer service knowledge or specialism
  • Working with the general public
  • Ability to work on own initiative, and manage a large team 
  • Commercial awareness
  • Up to date Food Hygiene Level 3 minimum certification would be desirable, as training will be provided

Casual positions available - full time & part hours we are flexible with no split shifts!
