What you’ll be responsible for

 

 
Supporting our GIS platform and integrations you will: 


 
1.    Be accountable for the design of technologies including:
    
•    Geospatial Applications and Data Models
•    Application Integration Technologies
•    Azure Platform Services
•    Associated cloud storage services

 

2.    Work within the Enterprise Applications strategy for Application Technologies, including Cloud Services and working to relevant architectural principles.

3.    Be accountable for ensuring all business generated requests and projects that require input for this specialist area are defined and delivered to the required level.

4.    Inform a comprehensive test strategy is in place for all Geospatial Services.

5.    Work closely with the ITS suppliers to determine the technical roadmap and service delivery processes.

6.    Ensure that designs align and adhere to published security patterns in the Geospatial Application environments
 
7.    Keep ahead of developments in Geospatial Technologies and Cloud Platforms by reading relevant journals, going to meetings and attending courses.

8.    Work with the Collaboration Centre and advise them on key architectural decisions concerning the platform and the supporting technologies

9.    Evaluate projects from a technical stance, guaranteeing that the development methods used are correct and practical

10.    Attend relevant Architecture Groups, representing architectural artefacts when appropriate

About you

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience 

  • Expert knowledge of Geospatial Application Architecture (primarily ESRI based) and Cloud Services
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of a complex Geospatial Application and Technology Infrastructure
  • Ideally three years+ experience of working in highly skilled technical teams and architectural discipline covering relevant Geospatial Technologies (including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, Utility Network, FME) and Microsoft Azure services
  • Have excellent relationship management skills
  • Be able to work in a pressurised situation during incidents
  • Must be a team player with a strong emphasis on providing excellent customer service
  • Experience of working within an Agile delivery framework
  • Experience of working with 3rd party partners
