What you’ll be responsible for
Key responsibilities of the role:
-End of year reporting to be consistent with current Ofwat guidance
-Interim reporting of performance to external stakeholders as required
-Line management of Leakage and PCC compliance team
-Team development to support existing SMEs
-Full documentation of methodologies and processes
-Development of future of improvements to reporting activities
Key Priorities:
-1st line assurance of delivery of Leakage and PCC Performance submissions
-Review of all component values, decision making, process steps and gap analysis
-Audit preparation, documentation of methodology and performance report production
-Development of full governance approach for annual and quarterly reporting
-Provide appropriate documentation and reporting outputs
-Provide an improved Water Balance calculation framework and tools
-Develop and chair regular cross function Leakage performance review meetings
-Ensure AMP8 preparedness
-Review reporting and assurance resource requirements
-Develop future Water Balance (WB) methodology
-Support PR24 activities where required
Key Areas of focus:
Data Workstream
-Review data components
-Ensure alignment to restated method
-Assure reliability of individual components
-Assure initial year end Water Balance (WB)
-Review data components final updated values
-Assure and submit final year end WB Leakage Performance Values
Reporting Workstream
-Collate documentation of restated method
-Document full process and methodology
-Support development of final year end deliverables through documented compliance assessment
-Produce yearend report on Leakage Performance outcome and commentary
-Identify opportunities for future reporting improvements
Collaboration activity
- Coordinate and work in partnership with key business stakeholders to ensure all projects are aligned and comply with DCWW H&S and Integrated Management System (IMS) process and procedures.
- Represent DCWW at Water UK, UKWIR and other cross company forums.
- Work collaboratively within the team to ensure that best practice is both adopted and promoted and where identified innovation is considered and implemented.
- Contribute to the planning and allocation of resources to meet the needs of projects, taking into account the personal aspirations and career development needs of the team and availability of external partners.
- Be an enthusiastic, ambassadorial and committed member of the team, ensuring that the unit becomes a valued and essential business function to DCWW.
- Develop effective working relationships and conduct regular meetings with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the unit becomes valued and essential business to function to DCWW.
- Provide excellent and consistent leadership and contribute to the professional development of others as appropriate.
About you
Education
-Educated to a degree level standard
Experience
-Substantial experience in Leakage and PCC regulatory reporting activities
-Substantial experience in business planning activities
-Experience of contributing to industry wide research and improvement projects utilising existing best practice whilst identifying areas of innovation and originality
-Have established strong working relationships with external service providers across the water industry
Knowledge & Skills
-An accomplished leakage manager with a track record of delivering water demand related projects to time, cost and quality objectives
-A proficient financial manager, able to transparently manage budgets to demonstrate spend against budget at any given time
-Highly proficient IT skills and a demonstrable understanding and working knowledge of DCWW’s corporate systems
-Ability to manage and motivate resource to deliver desired business outcomes to time, quality and cost objectives
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively engage across DCWW functions (Capital, Design, Resources and Distribution), partners and the wider -water industry
