What you’ll be responsible for

Supporting your team in ensuring the delivery of best practice procurement with regards to cost efficiencies, the agreement of acceptable commercial terms, supplier relationship management, process efficiency/compliance and benchmarking of best practice.

This will include:

  1. Supporting the development and implementation of procurement/category strategies designed to deliver significant cost and process efficiencies across specialist areas
  2. Satisfying day to day procurement requirements to ensure added value, savings, quality and surety of supply
  3. Contributing positively and with high levels of energy to the development of the team as the exemplar in the field of procurement
  4. Supporting the provision of procurement services to the wider Welsh Water organisation, including assisting with supporting category management development
  5. Working collaboratively with the procurement team and internal clients to ensure the delivery of a high quality, compliant, cost focused procurement process
  6. Undertaking and managing a robust, compliant procurement process including contractor analysis, issue of PQQ /ITT, assessment, contract placement and contract and relationship management
  7. Ensuring compliance with EU procurement law, legislative requirements and Welsh Water internal procurement policy and process
  8. Delivering cost savings and process efficiencies in own area of responsibility
  9. Providing on-going commercial support for orders and/or contracts until completion and post project/programme review
  10. Providing market intelligence and sector information to the Procurement Improvement Manager
  11. Supporting the development of an enhanced commercial capability across Welsh Water
  12. Helping administer day-day procurement queries, processes, contracts and orders, post placement and use of internal systems but not limited to SAP and other e-sourcing/procurement to support functional and company compliance
  13. Undertaking any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business

About you

Knowledge, Skills & Experience 

 

  • Proven track record of delivering successful procurement exercises in the area of good or services or both
  • Good commercial understanding and numeracy skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of working with E procurement, purchase to pay systems and good data management skills
  • Experience of negotiating on price and or terms and conditions
