What you’ll be responsible for

 

Reporting to the Collaboration Centre Lead the Senior Technical Delivery Lead will be responsible for the delivery of the overall portfolio of work being managed by the relevant Collaboration Centre. The Senior Technical Delivery Lead will lead strategy, design, delivery and rollout of solutions that will improve business operations and maximize the efficiency and productivity of the staff, using cost-efficient techniques and high-quality standards. 

 

Leading teams to work in partnership with key business stakeholders and IT partners to deliver workstreams. Plans, directs, and co-ordinates activities to manage and implement a programme from contract /proposal initiation to final operational stage.  

 

Responsibilities will include:

 

1.        Leading Architecture Driven Agile project delivery within the Collaboration Centre, in line with the solution plans, guiding the project scope, delivering on time, within budget and high-quality solutions.

2.        Build and maintain motivated matrix managed teams, making sure quality, capability development, continuous process improvement and delivery excellence are key pillars.

3.        Shaping the current Enterprise Applications Technology stack and therefore be able to identify and secure all the relevant expertise required to deliver the project.

4.        Driving the technology design and delivery decisions impacting the project and strategic product roadmaps.

5.        Determines, monitors, and reviews all Collaboration Centre economics and commercial agreements with partners ensuring that DCWW interests are protected, and terms and prices are favourable.

6.        Driving funding requests through appropriate DCWW governance groups to secure funding for new initiatives.

7.        Proactively manage dependencies, risks and issues, overcome obstacles, driving the technical conversation with relevant SMEs (vendors, delivery partners, suppliers, business stakeholders)

8.        Line Management for Technical Delivery Lead(s) within the Collaboration Centre and matrix management of resources, fostering inclusivity and making sure the teams collaborate, communicates, and focuses on what is most important and offers most value.

9.        Identify and compare the best processes, delivery methods and tools to use in line with strategic roadmaps. Recognise when something does not work and encourage a growth mindset.

10.        Managing product backlogs and sprint planning in Microsoft Azure DevOps.

11.        Identify and challenge organisational processes of increasing complexity and those processes that are unnecessarily complicated.

About you

 

Experience

  • Previous Project Manager/Technical Delivery Lead experience. Ideally using PMI / PRINCE2 / Agile / Architecture-driven agile methodologies or other structured workstream delivery methodologies.        
  • Ideally a minimum 7 years' experience of deploying a wide range of enterprise application technologies such as Sitecore, GIS, Salesforce and other such solutions        
  • Planning and managing budgets – experience of principles, methods, techniques and tools for the preparation and monitoring of budgets to manage costs and ensure cost effectiveness and value for money.        
  • Creating and managing high performing delivery teams        
  • Managing delivery of technical products within multiple workstreams, or programme, environment with proven leadership skills, and a good knowledge of business analysis, system design, system development and IT service management.

  • Root cause analysis skills combined with advanced analysis and problem-solving ability to translate complex problems into solutions with clearly articulated potential impacts (both threats and opportunities).        
  • Proficient in methods and techniques for preparing and presenting business cases, requests for proposal (RFP) invitations to tender (ITT) and statements of requirements/work both verbally and in writing.        
  • Skilled in the analysis and reporting of financial costs and forecasts against budgets.               
  • Proficient in methods, techniques and frameworks for negotiating contracts for the supply of IT products and services.        
     

Good to know

 

  • Location: Flexible however occasional site visits to our Cardiff based office will be required
  • Requirement to participate in the out of hours service provision
  • Hybrid working – in the office as need dictate (generally 1-2 days per month). Monday to Friday 37 hr week
