What you’ll be responsible for

You will be a part of a high performing team responsible for managing an operational area to achieve regulatory, customer and performance related targets. You will ensure the sewerage infrastructure is managed to the highest standard whilst working within the agreed budgetary targets.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Assisting the Network Manager with the safe & efficient operation of the sewerage network, ensuring that all operational activities are undertaken in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner
  2. Ensure all investigations are of the highest standard and undertaken in compliance with the relevant management procedure
  3. Provision of technical support to service providers and Welsh Water operational staff
  4. Ensure all activities are carried out in line with Health and Safety policies and procedures
  5. Assisting the Network Manager with external stakeholders to develop and maintain strong regulatory relationships eg. Natural Resources Wales representatives, and participation with community groups when appropriate
  6. Assessing asset condition utilising looksee CCTV equipment
  7. Surface water rebate inspections
  8. Assist the Network Manager with the effective management of the operational budget, through the promotion of effective repairs once a full investigation has been undertaken
  9. Representing the company during incidents with outside agencies such as the emergency services, EHO, Local government etc
  10. Emergency Response – provision and testing of appropriate functional contingency plans
  11. Participating in a Standby rota to ensure we offer the highest standards to our customer 24hrs a day
  12. Effective Liaison with Highway Authorities with regards to Streetworks defects

  • DCWW Wastewater operational team colleagues

  • Environment Agency/ Natural Resources Wales
  • Local Authorities & Emergency Planning groups
  • Health & Safety Executive as required
     

About you

Knowledge, Skills & Experience 

 

  • Full UK Driving Licence 
  • Experience in Wastewater Networks
  • Enthusiastic about putting our customers first every day    
  • Committed and hard working
  • Able to asses risk and adopt a safe working practice to undertake task    

Good to know

  • 6 week working pattern to include standby duties
  • A full UK driving licence is required 
  • A company vehicle will be provided
