What you’ll be responsible for
You’ll join a great team of colleagues at the Visitors Centre. A flexible approach and teamwork are essential. You will be smart and presentable, and able to communicate in an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and helpful way to visitors, always projecting a positive image for Welsh Water. Working with the public, each day will be different whichever team you will be working with that day. You may be booking in canoe hire, unpacking gifts in the shop or just being a friendly face. The role requires a high level of customer service throughout the areas of work and the ability to be flexible within the business. You will be a valuable core member of the team trained to work in the key areas of the business. Some duties include the following:
- Work to appropriate safety procedures to ensure the wellbeing of all persons on site.
- Provide a friendly information service to visitors about places to walk, cycle and other activities.
- Display shop items and maintain counter stock to maximise income.
- Daily reconciliation of income with till receipts.
- Engage with visitors as an ambassador of Welsh Water.
- General cleaning duties within the retail and storage areas.
- Assist with food preparation / cooking before and during service periods
About you
Previous experience of working in retail would be fantastic, but not essential, we will provide you with training to ensure you are comfortable in work. We would like to see applications from candidates who are positive, friendly, can work under their own initiative, and are happy to work with the general public!
