About you

Knowledge, Skills & Experience 

We are looking for a creative and positive person to join our team!

 

You'll have

  • Previous experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality setting
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • A passion for great food and creating memorable experiences
  • The ability to work flexibly, including weekends and during peak visitor periods
  • Confidence working in a kitchen environment, including basic food preparation
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English    
  • Satisfactory DBS check   

 

What you’ll be responsible for

 

Reporting to the Café Manager, you’ll oversee the day-to-day running of our café, ensuring smooth operations, excellent customer service, and a welcoming atmosphere for visitors and colleagues alike. This is a hands-on role where you’ll lead by example, supporting the team to deliver high-quality food and drink in a friendly, efficient manner — both front of house and in the kitchen.

 

What you’ll do

  • Supervise café staff, ensuring high standards of service and food presentation.
  • Work alongside the kitchen team to prepare and serve food to agreed standards.
  • Manage daily operations, including stock control, hygiene checks, and cash handling.
  • Support the Café Manager with scheduling, training, and team development.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive environment for both guests and team members.
  • Uphold health and safety standards and compliance with food regulations.

Working pattern

  • Weekly hours: 37 hours per week worked over 5 days
  • Typical shift patterns: either 8.30am-4.30pm or 10am-6.30pm (flexibility is considered)
