Join Our Facilities Team as a Porter – Be Part of Something Bigger!

This is more than just moving parcels – it’s about supporting people, creating comfortable spaces, and ensuring our offices run smoothly. You’ll work closely with our Facilities Management team, helping colleagues across the business and contributing to a positive, safe environment.

 

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering mail and parcels with care and accuracy.
  • Helping set up meeting rooms so teams can collaborate effectively.
  • Supporting office moves and furniture arrangements – making spaces work for people.
  • Carrying out health and safety checks to keep everyone safe.
  • Assisting with fire evacuations and seasonal plans like Winter Management.
  • Performing light maintenance tasks and repairs – no two days are the same!

What we’re looking for:

  • Comfortable with some manual handling (training provided).

Internal

  • Key internal staff and managers to ensure the provision of reception and front of house duties
  • Other members of the Facilities and Commercial Team
  • Personal Assistants and Admin Assistants of Executives and Senior Managers


External

  • All Members of the public and Dwr Cymru customers
  • Visitors to Welsh Water Assets, External bodies and organisations contacting DCWW
  • External service providers including Facilities Service Providers, Catering services provider (Eurest), Grounds maintenance, Security and Office Fit-out Contractors
  • Emergency Services – Fire, Police Etc

About you

 

Qualifications

 

  • Certification in basic computer skills, with good knowledge of and experience of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
 

  • Full UK driving licence - essential
  • Experience in dealing with members of the public, working in front of house on Reception or customer facing role - essential
  • Some knowledge or experience of Health and Safety Legislation - essential
  • Experience of undertaking similar roles or responsibilities - essential
  • Experience in making and receiving phone calls and enquiries, dealing with customers and members of the public over the phone - essential
  • Experience in general repairs and building fabric - previous building trade background or general handyman experience is desirable but not essential

The shift pattern for this role is Monday - Friday 11.00am - 19.00
