What you’ll be responsible for

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will: 

  1. Assist the implementation and continuous improvement of the Waste water network contracts
  2. Be an essential team member to ensure that contracts are delivered within the statutory, regulatory and financial outputs of the DCWW Business
  3. Plan while demonstrating value for money and complying with all relevant DCWW governance processes at all times
  4. Assist the implementation and continuous improvement of the Waste water network contracts
  5. Provide advice and support to area operational teams on all commercial aspects of the framework. Identify and implement best practice
  6. Ensure that the appropriate processes are maintained to provide detailed and effective financial information on the delivery of the contracts
  7. Raising Payment Certificates in accordance with contract
  8. Tracking assessment dates, review period and payment date to meet contract obligations
  9. Ensure contractors tasks are technically complete on DCWW SAP system
  10. Ensure cost settlement is posted to the correct cost centre
  11. Monitor volumes of activity and report on volumes against forecasts
  12. Use of IT systems to accurately record and monitor contract information
  13. Provide financial detail to ensure monthly accruals are accurately captured
  14. Assist in the evaluation and administration of compensation events
  15. Site visits as and when required to verify measurement of work completed
  16. Assist in recording and monitoring of contract performance against key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  17. Attend monthly performance meetings with Service Manager and service providers. Confident in presenting accurate data at monthly management meetings

About you

Knowledge, Skills & Experience 

  • A degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering would be an advantage but is not essential as development would be provided to the right candidate    
  • Experience of working with NEC contracts    
  • Good communication skills and comfortable reporting to Waste Water Network Management Team as required    
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and present financial information to ensure appropriate business decisions are taken
  • Ability to interpret and apply statutory and regulatory standards to achieve best business outcome    
  • Excellent IT skills 
  • Full driving licence and ability to travel frequently as per business requirements
