What you’ll be responsible for
Support the Wastewater Assets Regulatory & Performance Reporting team, in developing and implementing leading edge data to support the delivery of performance and serviceability improvement measures. Analyse data quality and recommend areas for potential improvement, innovation and governance processes.
Work with the wider Wastewater Assets Team, Operations and Asset Planning to gain a holistic view of asset performance generally to support achievement of our outcomes of safeguarding the environment, reducing our carbon footprint, maintaining our assets and operating efficiently.
Complete regulatory reporting and collate Environment Information Request responses for Wastewater Assets, whilst delivering on our values and striving to earn the trust of our customers. This will include;
1. Providing support to team by dealing with data requests (both internal and external), undertaking analysis, collating and issuing formal responses.
2. Ensuring that data requests and responses are tracked, compliant with EIR and GDPR requirements and reviewed with management.
3. Producing routine reports and dashboards with actionable insights as necessary, to satisfy regulatory, asset management and operational requirements.
4. Providing data and analytical support to help produce annual regulatory returns.
5. Supporting the Data Governance team as a designated Data Steward, contributing to data strategies, documentation and quality improvements.
6. Identifying and implementing Quality Assurance procedures, producing and maintaining user documentation, defining and maintaining data quality standards, monitoring compliance and recommending actions.
7. Supporting/contributing to the continuous improvement and development of data analysis and reporting.
8. Identifying issues with monitoring data and liaising appropriately with relevant departments and data owners.
9. Supporting Operational and Asset teams by identifying poorly-performing assets, validating data and notifying assets for investigation.
10. Supporting investment planning (including Price Reviews) through the analysis and provision of data to help assess risks to compliance and performance.
11. Developing and maintaining good, consistent, working relationships with internal stakeholders.
Tasks the data analyst will undertake:
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand their data requirements
- Understanding of regulatory commitments for the areas they are working
- Reviewing, validating, analysing and preparing data for data requests and internal/external reporting by following procedures and processes
- Ensuring steps for data preparation and data requests are well documented to support successful audit
- Collaborate with stakeholder to ensure the business are able to make the best data led decisions and provide the data in a format that they require

About you
Experience
- Experience of handling and summarising large amounts of data to provide business intelligence and expressing this visually in a clear, logical and structured manner.
- Highly organised approach with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple requests simultaneously.
Knowledge and Skills
- Enthusiastic about putting our customers first every day
- IT literate and sound knowledge of IT systems specifically in relation to wastewater asset data
- The ability to effectively communicate to different audiences at different levels
- The ability to demonstrate good problem solving skills and process understanding
- The ability to influence using clear presentation of ideas and/or facts both verbally and in writing to gain agreement or acceptance of proposals
- The ability to develop positive working relationships and to be seen as a credible member of the team
