What you’ll be responsible for

As a Catering Assistant, you will be required to: 
 

1. Work to appropriate procedures to ensure the safety of all persons on site.
2. Daily reconciliation of income with till receipts.
3. Serve food and beverages to customers.
4. Ensuring tables are clean and available for customers to use.
5. General cleaning duties with the kitchen and storage areas.
6. Cooking for colleagues an serving hot meals during breakfast and lunch time hours.

About you

Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Skills
 

• Ideally Level 2 Food Hygiene
• Catering / Retail experience
• Practical Health & Safety experience    
• Retail customer service knowledge or specialism
• Working with the general public    
• Ability to work on own initiative    
• Ability to communicate effectively in English    
• Commercial awareness
• Numeracy / till operating skills

Other Useful Information

• The role requires 3 shifts / week and these shifts can fall on any days of the week, including weekends - although we do try to accomodate requests for more fixed shift patterns where possible.  Shifts can vary in times from 0800 - 1800 with most shifts being around 8 hrs. Rotas are provided one month in advance.
• Elan Valley is situated in the county of Powys in mid-Wales and can be accessed easily from the nearby town of Rhayader, which is well served by public transport..

Due to the nature of the industry, we require satisfactory references, post offer medical clearance, and a criminal records Basic Disclosure check on all new employees joining the business.
