What you’ll be responsible for

As a credible member of the Water Asset Management Team you will:

  • Contribute to the safeguarding of public health through the provision of clean safe drinking water that maintains the trust of customers.
  • Work with the Production Asset Engineers to provide robust and valid information on the status of risks and ensure that 3 yearly reviews are completed.
  • Work with the Water Risk Team to ensure that the Company meets its Regulatory Quality requirements and ensure that risks to water quality receive investment via Investment Manager due to robustness of the risk capture system process. 
  • Manage the appropriate stages of the Capital Gateway Process in relation to Investment Manager in particular review of risks, data validation, verification, extracting, interpreting and uploading data to support risk progression    
  • Assist in providing monthly reports for DWSPs and Investment Manager that are shared and communicated to Director Level.
  • Support the Production Asset Manager in monthly reporting of team KPI’s.

 

As a Water Asset Technician you will: 

  • Work with Production Water Asset Team to identify asset and operational issues that could lead to service failures.
  • Liaise with DCWW Central Asset Planning team to ensure a consistent scoring methodology is in place and utilised correctly in line with the SMF.   
  • Ensure that all recorded risks are logged using a consistent approach capturing all relevant data 
  • Ensure that all risks are maintained and updated through the appropriate stages in the Capital Gateway Process and provide assistance and advice to others as required
  • Work with operational teams to correctly identify issues, having a clear view of the “worst performing” assets in terms of service and costs ensuring root cause of problems are correctly identified 
  • Monitor and assign actions as required as part of ensuring risks are populated with the necessary data 
  • Document asset management processes and ensure good communication of these processes through the business. Look to evolve and refine these process as they become more established
  • Develop and maintain good, consistent working relationships with Capital Delivery and Capital Partners
  • Ensure the provision of accurate and timely management information
  • To carry out any other duties as required to meet business needs

About you

Knowledge, Skills & Experience 

  • An understanding of DCWWs statutory and regulatory obligations
  • Understanding of Risk Assessment & Risk Management to be able to assist in identification of the root causes of service failures 
  • Understanding and experience of the operation of Potable Water Services both infra and non infra
  • Ability to communicate in the written and verbal form at a high standard 
  • Computer literate, in particular good understanding of both MS Word and Excel as well as GIS, SAP and Investment Manager.
  • Current driving licence

  • This is a 16 month temporary position. 
  • Expectation is to work from a DCWW Site or Office with occasional remote working.
