What you’ll be responsible for

Carrying out planned maintenance of ICA plant, and make decisions on both tasks and frequencies in order to strike a balance between regular checks and number of breakdowns.


Your responsibilities will include:
 

  1. Working closely with the area’s wastewater teams to provide ICA support and expertise for the area’s wastewater treatment works and associated assets.
  2. Ensuring compliance with the area’s planned maintenance schedule. 
  3. Carrying out planned maintenance of ICA plant, and making decisions on both tasks and frequencies in order to strike a balance between regular checks and number of breakdowns. 
  4. Responding to breakdowns on a very wide variety of ICA plant, assessing problems, deciding on action, acquiring spares and carrying out repairs as necessary. 
  5. Recommending design changes if necessary, to ensure that plant continues to function efficiently and effectively in order to maintain levels of service.
  6. Programming PLC’s, telemetry and SCADA systems to efficiently control and monitor unmanned plant and amending existing programmes in response to both faults and operational changes in order to optimise levels of service. 
  7. Reviewing ICA solutions of small capital schemes to ensure correct operation. 
  8. Implementing and maintaining the IMS procedures at all times to ISO standard. Ensuring that all ICA equipment is calibrated by the procedure at defined frequencies and is auditable and keeping BMS records to ensure that they are satisfactory for internal and BSI audits.
  9. Ensuring the operation of all communication links to wastewater outstations are maintained and operable at all times.
  10. Implementing and maintaining the Planned Maintenance System. 
  11. Being actively involved in design, installation and commissioning of Capital Schemes to enhance ICA, Process optimisation and environmental discharge monitoring and control. 
  12. Liaising closely within the Alliance Partnership to ensure that all large capital schemes are implemented effectively and efficiently.
  13. Designing, installing, commissioning and maintaining all instrumentation and communication links to wastewater assets. 
  14.  Undertaking any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

About you

Knowledge, Skills & Experience 

  • HNC or equivalent in Industrial measurement and control
  • Clean UK Drivers Licence
  • Time Served apprenticeship in a relevant role – electronics, instrumentation or electrical would be desirable; or fully qualified in at least one of the work streams with a demonstrable track record and experience
  • Strong IT skills 
  • A team player who understands the importance of ownership and accountability 
  • The ability to develop positive working relationships across the business 
  • Effective communication skills

Good to know

  • Site based Role.
  • Standby cover required (1 in 5). You will receive standby retainer payments.
  • 260 hrs planned work time contract split over 12 monthly payments (up to £4,500 p/a)
  • Company Vehicle, fuel card, tools/equipment and PPE provided.
