What you’ll be responsible for


Operating Wastewater Treatment Works and associated wastewater pumping stations to company BMS and Health and Safety requirements. This will include:

  • General operation of the wastewater treatment works including sampling, reporting reactive maintenance breakdowns and ensuring full compliance to Health & Safety and BMS requirements and ensuring quality control.
  • Liaising with ME&I craftsmen on revenue and reactive maintenance work.
  • Participating in arrangements and cover for annual leave and sickness for area of operation.
  • Liaising and coordinating with the area Supervisor and team members on operating activities and formulating effective and efficient cost reductions plans and savings.
  • Ensuring correct compliance to required EC Directives, BMS and other company standards and procedures including Health & Safety.
  • Willing to develop and learn within the role and have the flexibility and competence to operate and maintain multiple sites and participate in an out of hour’s standby system.

  • Strong working relationships within the Area Process Team
  • Advice and support from the Process Engineers, Process Control and Craftsmen
  • Liaison with local Networks Team




  • Liaison with Environment Agency
  • Liaison and co-ordination of suppliers and contractors

About you


The following qualifications, experience, knowledge & skills are deemed essential:

  • Experience gained in the industry to ensure full compliance and adherence to all H&S issues
  • Enthusiastic about putting our customers first every day
  • Awareness of regulatory bodies such as the Environment Agency/NRW
  • Dealing with discharge consent licence for all environmental discharges
  • Computer systems literate including SAP, Scope X, Exchange, Word and Excel are essential


The following are desirable:

  • NVQ Level 2 or higher, BTEC, ONC/HNC qualifications in Waste Water Treatment Process Operations
  • Experience gained in the industry with use of SCADA systems, Instrumentation and Mechanical and Electrical equipment
  • Fully conversant with Company BMS procedures and Health and Safety requirement and control
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Welsh

Good to know


  • Mon - Fri, on site with no shifts or standby 
  • A full drivers licence is required - the successful applicant will be provided with a work vehicle
