What you’ll be responsible for
Across our region we have 833 wastewater treatment sites, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining several of our Wastewater Treatment Works and associated sewage pumping stations in line with environmental permits to company Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Health and Safety requirements.
This will include:
- Taking responsibility for operating sites in line with environmental permits to protect the environment, carrying out general maintenance of equipment and sites, and taking effluent samples to monitor and improve biological performance.
- Taking responsibility for identifying and, where appropriate, undertaking reactive work as required, raising work requests for equipment repairs, and liaising with multi-disciplinary craft teams to facilitate repairs.
- Identifying potential pollution risks from our assets, taking appropriate measures to prevent pollution, and escalating concerns when required.
- Liaising and coordinating with the Area Supervisor and team members to support operational activities and continuous improvement initiatives across the area.
- Taking responsibility for your own safety and that of colleagues through compliance with company Health and Safety procedures.
- Understanding and adhering to quality management system requirements to ensure audit compliance.
- Taking ownership of sites, maintaining high housekeeping standards, and ensuring defects are reported promptly.
- Demonstrating a willingness to develop and learn within the role, with the flexibility and competence to operate and maintain multiple sites.
- Participating in arrangements to provide cover for annual leave and sickness across the operational area.
- Undertaking any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
- Participation in the out-of-hours standby rota is a contractual requirement of the role.

- Enthusiastic about putting our customers first every day
- Awareness of regulatory bodies such as Environment Agency/NRW
- Computer systems literate
- Passionate about our outdoor environment and protecting our surroundings
- Team player, willing to take part in all necessary training requirements required for the role
