About you
Qualifications Required
- AAT or part-qualified CIMA or ACCA or a similar standard is considered
Experience Required
- Experience with SAP or a comparable ERP system or experience working with any other relevant systems
- Previous experience of working in an accounts/financial/bookkeeping role
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written form
- Ability to multitask
- Proficient in both Word and Excel

What you’ll be responsible for
As a Finance Controls and Assurance Analyst, you’ll help protect the organisation’s financial integrity by strengthening internal controls, supporting regulatory and statutory reporting, and providing insight that drives continuous improvement. Working closely with finance, audit and wider business teams, you’ll play a visible role in assurance, risk management and sustainable investment decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, assess, and challenge financial controls to ensure risks are effectively mitigated and controls remain fit for purpose in a changing regulatory environment.
- Plan and execute control testing, identify and remediate deficiencies, and escalate key findings with clear recommendations to senior management.
- Deliver insightful reporting and analysis from control activity to support risk management, process improvement, automation, and audit engagement.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to document, review, and maintain accurate process documentation aligned to operational, policy, and regulatory changes.
- Design and implement robust processes and controls to ensure spend categorisation meets all regulatory and reporting requirements, including Ofwat, sustainability, and ESG.
- Provide flexible support across the team, undertaking additional duties as required to meet business objectives.
