What you’ll be responsible for

 

You will be a part of a high performing team responsible for managing an operational area to achieve regulatory, customer and performance related targets. You will ensure the sewerage infrastructure is managed to the highest standard whilst working within the agreed budgetary targets. This will include:

  • Assisting the Network Manager with the safe & efficient operation of the sewerage network, ensuring that all operational activities are undertaken in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner
  • Ensure all investigations are of the highest standard and undertaken in compliance with the relevant management procedure
  • Provision of technical support to service providers and Welsh Water operational staff
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in line with Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Assisting the Network Manager with external stakeholders to develop and maintain strong regulatory relationships eg. Natural Resources Wales representatives, and participation with community groups when appropriate
  • Assessing asset condition utilising looksee CCTV equipment
  • Surface water rebate inspections
  • Assist the Network Manager with the effective management of the operational budget, through the promotion of effective repairs once a full investigation has been undertaken
  • Representing the company during incidents with outside agencies such as the emergency services, EHO, Local government etc
  • Emergency Response – provision and testing of appropriate functional contingency plans
  • Participating in a Standby rota to ensure we offer the highest standards to our customer 24hrs a day
  • Effective Liaison with Highway Authorities with regards to Streetworks defects
  • Undertaking any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
