What you’ll be responsible for

 

As a Transport Technician you will:

 

  • Ensure that the DCWW fleet is maintained in line with MOT / VOSA standards
  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with our Business Management system
  • Support the performance of the team by working in a professional and efficient way
  • Ensure that all aspects of vehicle and plant maintenance are completed, including paperwork and job card / record keeping
  • Support the team in achieving safety, performance and budget targets
  • Respond to customer requests and requirements as necessary
  • Carry out the routine servicing of vehicles in line with manufacturers standards
  • Repair and maintain vehicles and plant in a safe and roadworthy condition and in line with MOT / VOSA standards
  • Maintain all workshop records in accordance with BMS procedures
  • Carry out repairs and servicing to industry standard times
  • Assist in achieving business plan targets
  • Carry out all work in accordance with the company’s Health And Safety policy and systems

About you

 

We will consider applicants with Light Commercial Technician experience only but heavy goods experience is preferable 

 

Experience, Qualifications and Skills required: 

 

  • Full UK Driving Licence (HGV desirable but can be trained otherwise)
  • Experienced in maintaining LGV’s to VOSA standards
  • A good knowledge of health and safety requirements in vehicle maintenance
  • Excellent communication skills

 

Good to know

 

  • 37 hr week - Mon- Weds 8am -4pm and Thurs and Fri 8am -3.45pm
  • Site based role
  • Option to go on standby rota (one week every 6 weeks)
